VILLERS-SUR-MER
- the seaside resort
|
|
Villers-sur-mer is part of the "Côte Fleurie" ("Flowered Coast"), name that was given to the coast of Normandy between Honfleur and Cabourg, well known for its prestigious seaside resorts, Deauville, Trouville, Cabourg.
|
Launched under the Second Empire, these resorts have greatly preserved the print of the splendours of that time : casinos, luxury hotels, large villas
Here, on the right, a former casino of Second Empire style |

The emblem of town : a dinosaur, posing here in front of the Tourist Office.
Inside this Office a very interesting paleontological museum shows fossils found during excavations of the cliff known as "les Vaches Noires" ("the Black Cows") : giant ammonites, whole crocodiles, vertebrae of dinosaurs... |
